Kostroma State University offers language training in Russian for foreign citizens. Passing the Russian language course makes it possible to enter different faculties of KSU or pass a qualification exam in Russian as a foreign language.

Group hours and tuition fees:

Russian language course (720 hours)

  • first semester — 360 hours of classes
  • second semester — 360 hours of classes

One academic hour — 40 minutes.

The cost of training is 122,000 rubles per year.

Foreign citizens are enrolled in a Russian language course after paying a contract for the provision of educational services and providing a medical insurance policy valid in Russia for the entire period of study.

Duration of study is one academic year (from September 15 to June 30). Classes are held in the morning or afternoon. The maximum number of students in a group is 10-12 people. Upon completion of training, students take an exam (written and oral).

Teaching is carried out on various aspects of the Russian language: phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, writing and linguoculturology.

Classes in courses of Russian as a foreign language are conducted by experienced teachers who use the latest methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, an individual approach to each student. The academic year of the course is not only full of educational activities. Students attend museums, exhibitions, concerts.

Foreign citizens submit the following documents to the University:

  • an identity document of the applicant and his citizenship (original and notarized translation into Russian) — by e-mail
  • medical certificate with data on chronic diseases, a certificate of the established sample confirming that there is no HIV infection, the result of testing for RW and hepatitis B, a medical report on the vaccinations (tetanus, measles, diphtheria, tuberculosis), certified by the seal of the medical institution with the date of vaccination, a conclusion on the absence of tuberculosis (fluorography or another type of study)

In accordance with the order of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, when issuing an invitation to study, the validity of the passport must expire no less than 1.5 years after the expiration of the visa. Foreign citizens are given the opportunity to live in KSU dormitories. Dormitory accommodation is paid in advance for 12 or 6 months.
