Today Kostroma State University has 8 institutes, 43 training profiles, about 8 thousand students, more than 500 teachers.

The priority directions of KSU development are new materials, information and social technologies. Supporting areas - natural, human and social sciences, mechanical engineering and other applied engineering technologies, light industry technologies, culture and art, biotechnology.
