International cooperation one of the components of the development program of Kostroma State University. The main directions of international activity are:
- development of strategic partnership and networking with foreign partners
- expansion of cooperation in the field of education
- expansion of cooperation in the field of scientific research
- enhancing international academic mobility of students, graduate students, teachers and staff
- development of educational services export
The aim of implementing projects with foreign partners is to improve the quality of education, to maximize the use of the innovative potential of international contacts for the preparation of competent and competitive specialists. To optimize international activities KSU successfully operates a department of international and regional relations, a local center for testing foreign citizens, a Russian-French resource center, a center of Russian-Chinese friendship.
The development of interaction with foreign partners at Kostroma State University is based on contractual relations. Today the university has about 70 existing agreements on cooperation with universities and organizations from Armenia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Belarus, USA, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Finland, France, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
The interaction is being developed in the field of education, science, culture and sports. Within the framework of inter-university agreements, various projects, joint educational programs are implemented, research, international weeks and international conferences at KSU and partner universities are conducted, the results of scientific research are published. Academic mobility programs are implemented annually, including the Erasmus + European academic exchange program, teacher and student exchanges, training internships, internships, study tours.
One of the priority areas of the university’s international activity is the promotion of academic mobility of students, teacher and staff. A lot of work is being done to send university representatives to short-term internships, language courses and study tours. Due to the lack of funding for most academic mobility programs, it is the short-term stay programs in foreign universities and organizations that are in demand, as well as educational tourism.
An obligatory component of the university’s international activities is the mobility of the faculty for lecturing, conducting courses, seminars, and master classes. Foreign experts conduct training sessions, give lectures, conduct trainings and educational master classes in history, literature, psychology, foreign languages, intercultural communication.
Every year, on the basis of the university, the international week "Dialogue of cultures - the culture of dialogue: East-West" is held. The main idea is to create an eventful space where students from different universities from different countries actively interact with each other as participants and organizers. As part of the international week, a series of events is held annually, including lectures, seminars, meetings, master classes, reports on intercultural topics, university presentations, international friendship holidays, creative and sports contests and competitions, as well as acquaintance with Kostroma’s cultural, historical and architectural heritage the edges.
In general, KSU is of great interest to foreign partners. Both departments and individual specialists have been interacting for many years: student and teacher exchanges for the implementation of joint educational and scientific events, internships, practices and study tours, participation in international competitions, contests, exhibitions, olympiads are organized; scientific research, international weeks and international conferences are held at KSU and partner universities, the results of scientific research are published.
